A cryptographically-relevant quantum computer would break the math most of crypto — and most of the internet — relies on today. Shor's algorithm can derive a private key from a public key; Grover's algorithm halves the effective strength of symmetric encryption. Neither exists yet at that scale. Both are why “Q-Day” is worth tracking now, not the day it arrives.

Roadmap: AI × quantum for the global capital marketplace
How we plan to extend AI-backed analysis into quantum-risk intelligence, migration tooling, and — eventually — quantum-safe settlement infrastructure. This section is a roadmap, not a shipped product: dates and scope will move as the underlying research does.
AI-driven quantum risk intelligence
The same AI-backed analysis pipeline behind our event markets and NEXUS — our proprietary vector-analysis and reasoning systems — extends to quantum-specific inputs: hardware research, protocol migrations, and on-chain exposure, read continuously to inform EQRI, quantum event markets, and audit findings. A field moving faster than any team of human analysts can track by hand is exactly the kind of problem machine-speed synthesis is built for.
AI-accelerated PQC migration for capital markets
Agentic AI systems that inventory a client's cryptographic exposure across their entire stack — chains, custody, TLS, contracts — and generate a migration plan, extending the audit service from crypto-native firms to funds, brokers, and market infrastructure. Alongside it: quantum-risk hedging instruments beyond crypto, including rates on the cryptographically-relevant-quantum-computer timeline and readiness indexes for other asset classes.

The quantum-hardened chain: how we're building it
EQ Chain's design hardens both layers a future quantum computer could attack, not just one.
- Consensus layer: validator signatures move to a stateless, hash-based signature scheme (SLH-DSA, FIPS 205) rather than the elliptic-curve signatures most chains rely on today.
- Account layer: hybrid dual-signature accounts require BOTH a classical secp256k1 signature AND a lattice-based ML-DSA-44 signature (FIPS 204) — a break of either scheme alone cannot forge a transaction.
- EVM-compatible: existing smart contracts and developer tooling carry over rather than requiring a rewrite.
- Native precompiles let smart contracts verify post-quantum signatures onchain directly.
- Designed to slot into EventTrader's existing custody and deposit-rail machinery rather than standing apart from it.
The validator set is permissioned, operated by Cymetica — not an open, permissionless set.
Honest limits: this is not a drop-in replacement for unmodified wallet software. Standard wallets will need an upgraded signing flow to produce the dual-signature account type before they can use the chain.
Quantum-hardened by design — no cryptographic scheme carries an absolute guarantee. This chain design is in private engineering; independent security audits and compliance review precede any public availability.
